The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 funds to implement State Public Health Actions to Prevent and Control Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity and Associated Risk Factors and Promote School Health. There are two components to this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA).
The first is a non-competitive basic component that will be awarded to all 50 states and the District of Columbia if they submit a technically acceptable application. Approximately $28 million per year is available for the basic component.
The second is a competitive enhanced component that will provide funding for up to 25 states. All states and the District of Columbia are eligible to apply for the competitive enhanced component. The enhanced component will be objectively reviewed and scored. Approximately $42 million per year is available to fund up to 25 states for the enhanced component.
The project period for both components is 5 years, with a 12-month budget period and an anticipated award date of July 1, 2013.
