AAHE Awards Luncheon

The AAHE Awards Luncheon honors recipients of the AAHE awards and scholarships. The AAHE awards are the AAHE Scholar Award, Professional Service to Health Education Award, Horizon Award (new professional), Distinguished Service to Health Education Award (non health educator), and the Health Education Professional of the Year Award. The Health Education Professional of the Year Awards, sponsored by Tampax, Procter and Gamble, may be awarded in six categories: 1) Schools (K‑12), 2) College/University, 3) Public/Community, 4) Medical Care, 5) Worksite and 6) Health Education Administrator. Five scholarships may be awarded: AAHE Scholarship (undergraduate), Barbara A. Cooley Scholarship (masters), Delbert Oberteuffer Scholarship (doctoral), the Marion B. Pollock Fellowship (masters) and the Will Rogers Institute Fellowship (doctoral).

HECAT Training

The Health Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (HECAT) is an assessment tool for examining school health education curricula - helps school districts conduct an analysis based on the National Health Education Standards and CDC's Characteristics of Effective Health Education Curricula. Results help schools select/develop appropriate/effective health education curricula and improve the delivery of health education. It is customizable to meet local community needs and conform to the curriculum requirements. Cost: Free! We do need a "head count" to provide enough materials for everyone attending.
AAHE NCATE University Preparation

The workshop provides assistance to colleges/universities in preparing a program report. Workshop fee is $100 per institution for up to 2 participants (plus $50 for each additional participant). Fee includes 2010 Guidelines CHECKING WITH SUSAN WOOLEY for AAHE/NCATE Review of Initial Level Programs for Health Education Teacher Preparation, CD-ROM, and other training materials.
