Professional Service to

Health Education Award    

Definition:  

The Professional Service to Health Education Award is presented annually at the National Convention to recognize association members who have made substantial contributions to the association and the profession for 10 years or more. Preference is given to nominees with the most service to AAHE. One to three such awards may be given annually.

Qualifications of Candidates:

• Previous recipients of awards may not be considered for re-nomination for the same award until 10 years have passed since the initial award.
• Deceased persons are not eligible for consideration for awards.
• Members of the Awards Committee and of the AAHE Board of Directors are not eligible to receive AAHE awards while they are serving in said roles.
• A minimum of 10 years in the profession.
• A minimum of five continuous years membership in AAHE, including the year of nomination.
• A member of AAHE.
• Service to AAHE as officer, committee member, program participant, other.
• Service to health education at local, state, district, and national levels, over and beyond the ordinary requirements attendant to the candidate's position of employment.
• Service and leadership to the profession, such as writing, research, special projects, grants, and health-related community activities, etc.
