Blue Apple Health Education Awards
Each year the Blue Apple Health Education Awards recognizes school health education programs that demonstrate best practices and show coordination with other components of school health. The awards program will recognize schools that will serve as models of excellence for others across the nation.
Professional Service to Health Education Award
The Professional Service To Health Education Awardis presented annually at the National Convention to recognize association members who have made substantial contributions to the association and the profession for 10 years or more. Preference is given to nominees with the most service to AAHE.
Distinguished Service to Health Education Award
The Distinguished Service To Health Education Award is presented annually at the National Convention in recognition of an outstanding contribution to health education either by an individual or organization outside the health education profession.
AAHE Scholar Award
The AAHE Scholar Award is presented annually at the National Convention to recognize an AAHE member who has had a scholarly record for a number of years, as evidenced by publications and presentations related to health promotion/education.
AAHE Horizon Award
The Horizon Award is presented annually at the National Convention in recognition of an individual who demonstrates, through his/her contributions to the field of health education, outstanding potential to obtain prominence in the health education profession.
AAHE/HEDIR Technology Award
The AAHE/HEDIR Technology Award is presented annually at the National Convention in recognition of an health educator, or a group who has made exceptional contributions or who has transformed the profession of education through technology.
Honor A Colleague
Each of us can point to a very special person who has had a great influence in our lives. The AAHE Honor A Colleague Project offers a way in which you can give that special person a memento honoring him or her as one of your most respected teachers, most influential professionals, or most inspirational colleagues. For each $25.00 contribution to the AAHE Scholarship Fund, you may specify an individual whom you wish to recognize. A specially designed "Recognition Award", suitable for framing, will be forwarded to that individual acknowledging your contribution and recognizing his or her influence on your professional life. A group or institution may be honored in the same manner.
AAHE Fellows
To be named a fellow of the American Association for Health Education (FAAHE), the candidate must exhibit the following: at least 10 consecutive years of AAHE membership; meritorious and consistent service to AAHE via committee service not only as a committee member, but as a chairperson, or membership on the Board of Directors, and evidence of leadership in the field of health education.
Outstanding Health Education Majors of the Year Award
The Outstanding Health Education Major of the Year Award was created to recognize one outstanding undergraduate student majoring in health education from each degree track of the colleges or universities with professional preparation degree programs in this area. Each institution will be responsible for developing the criteria it wishes to use to identify its outstanding student of the year.
Health Education Professional of the Year School K-12 Award
AAHE seeks to recognize those who enrich the depth and scope of health-related activities. AHE is proud to cosponsor the Health Education Professional of the Year School K-12 (HEPY) Award. Awards are given in six categories. We are working to make the Teacher of the Year application process much easier for the applicants. Please check back on July 15 for the new instructions and application materials.
College/University Health Education Specialist Award
The College/University Health Education Specialist Award recognizes an individual who has made substantial contributions as a health education in the college/university setting.
AAHE Practitioner Award
The AAHE Practitioner Awardrecognizes an individual who has made substantial contributions to professional practice as a health educator in the agency/community/public/worksite setting.
