Case Study Competition

The American Association for Health Education (AAHE) Case Study Competition allows student teams from a variety of institutions to display their ability to solve problems, apply the CHES responsibilities, and communicate a health message. The Competition takes place during the annual AAHE/AAHPERD convention 2010 Indianapolis, Indiana, March 16-20, 2010; 2011 San Diego, California, March 29-April 2, 2011; 2012 Boston, Massachusetts, March 13-17, 2012; 2013 Charlotte, North Carolina, April 23-27; St. Louis, Missouri, March 18-22, and Seattle, Washington, March 17-21.

Institutions with degree programs in health education are invited to create teams of three undergraduate students exemplary in their programs. The contest is open to the first eight teams registering. Each institution may enter only one team. Students (and their professor) must register for the convention.

The Case Study is distributed to the teams prior to arrival in the convention. During the convention each team will present their solution to the case study before a panel of judges. Judges award points based on a number of criteria including the ability to apply the CHES responsibilities in solving the case study. Judging Criteria.

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are presented.

Registration

Registration for the Case Study Competition begins October 1 in the year preceding the conference and will continue until six weeks prior to the convention, or until all eight slots are filled. Typically, the eight slots fill up quickly. If you are certain you would like to enter a team it would be wise to register your team as soon as possible. Student names may be changed up until six weeks before the convention. Registration Deadline: December 1st
