AAHE recognizes the importance of identifying potential leaders and providing opportunities for these individuals to assume leadership roles in health education at the national, district, and state levels.

  • offers leadership training;
  • provides opportunities for young professionals to become involved in AAHE/AAHPERD; 
  • includes attendance at AAHE Board Meetings and National Convention

    • effective leadership competencies;
    • understanding of the Alliance and AAHE structure;
    • experience in governance of the Association and Alliance;
    • assigned responsibilities during their tenure;
    • professional relationships with mentors of the Association and Alliance.

Professionals or Graduate Students can be nominated by state or district associations, the AAHE board of Directors, AAHE members, or the National Executive Committee of Eta Sigma Gamma.
