The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc implemented an advanced-level certification, the Masters Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). This presentation will demonstrate the unique process and results of the MCHES Experience Documentation Opportunity (EDO), which allowed current Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) to apply for the credential prior to the examination phase.
The MCHES Exam: A Milestone in the Health Education Profession Speakers: Jacquie Rainey and Betty Hubbard
The presentation will inform participants of the development process, registration numbers of the inaugural MCHES examination. The content in the updated Competency Based Framework for Health Education Specialists – 2010 informed the MCHES exam development process. Eligibility requirements, rigorous item-writing process, and results of the first MCHES examination will be discussed. By participating, the audience will be able to explain the process for developing the MCHES examination and the results.
