Teacher Education National Standards

AAHE serves as the Specialty Professional Association (SPA) to the National Council on Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). In this capacity AAHE convenes teacher education experts who periodically revise the standards for the professional preparation of health education teachers. The 2009 revised standards are currently under consideration by NCATE and, if accepted, will be available at the end of 2009 for use beginning in 2010. Please return to this page later in the year for direct access to the standards and information on how to purchase the Manual on Health Education Teacher Preparation.

Information on current AAHE/NCATE standards is available at http://www.ncate.org/institutions/programStandards.asp?ch=4
