About IEJHE

The First Web-Based Peer-Reviewed Journal in Health Education, Promotion, and Behavior

The International Electronic Journal of Health Education (IEJHE) went online December 31, 1997 as the first peer-reviewed health education journal available on the Internet. The journal features articles of that have a relevance to international audiences and that involve international programs and initiatives in health education and promotion. IEJHE features complete text, author abstracts and a searchable database. IEJHE is an open access professional journal. In addition to having the articles appear in a hypertext format, all articles can be downloaded in pdf format.

In 2001, IEJHE became an 'open volume' periodical. This means that once a manuscript is accepted it will be published online within two weeks and all articles published during that year are accessible in a single annual volume. All manuscripts are submitted electronically, and all reviews and correspondence back to authors are also conducted electronically. The two week timeline from acceptance to publication is a feature that allows a timeliness of publication that is unparalleled.

Currently articles written in English, Chinese and Spanish are solicited and accepted. Contributing editors for these languages have been selected to assist in promoting and reviewing manuscripts in the language of origin.

The journal is available to members of AAHE/AAHPERD as well as outside individuals and groups.  In addition to having access to the present issue, readers also have access to all previous issues at no charge.

You are invited to browse the journal, and you are encouraged to submit your written manuscripts to the journal for review at www.journalsubmit.com. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact W. William Chen at wchen@hhp.ufl.edu.
