AAPAR Pathfinder Award
Introduced in 2010, the Pathfinder Award is AAPAR's highest honor. It recognizes a member who has made a significance difference to AAPAR and to one or more of its structures.
Eligibility:
- Current membership in AAHPERD for at least 10 years
- Current membership in AAPAR for at least five years.
- Successful career (20+ years) in an educational physical activity or recreation setting.
- Clearly outstanding in his/her profession.
- Formally recognized by the members of AAPAR as a noteworthy leader as evidenced by a national award for outstanding professional contributions (e.g., AAALF Honor Award, AAPAR Honor Award, or Council achievement award).
- Educational contributions clearly encompassing more than one facet of physical activity or recreation: service, scholarship, or teaching.
- Educational contributions of national significance through the medium of physical activity or recreation.
- Social and humanitarian concerns clearly evident.
Nominations must be received at AAPAR by December 16.
This award is presented at the AAPAR Awards Ceremony at the AAHPERD National Convention & Exposition.
