PAR Three Consultant, InnerLink, Inc., Wins AAPAR’s Presidential Citation

Reston, VA – Richard J. LaRue, president of the American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR), has awarded InnerLink, Inc., with a special AAPAR Presidential Citation. As one of AAPAR's PAR Three consultants, InnerLink is partnering with AAPAR to determine the effectiveness of Health eTools for Schools®, a secure online program they developed for the Highmark Foundation to help Pennsylvania schools meet the required state and federal wellness guidelines to improve students' physical activity, health education, and nutrition. There are plans to improve the school wellness programs and expand to other states.

"We wanted to show our appreciation for InnerLink in working with AAPAR to improve student wellness and educator effectiveness through its Web-based and handheld assessments for health and wellness, tools for collaboration, and best practice teaching tools," LaRue said.

The award will given during AAPAR's General Session & Keynote Address on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at this year's American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (AAHPERD) National Convention & Exposition in Tampa, FL, from 8:45 – 10:00 a.m. in Room 13 of the Tampa Convention Center. Martha Harris, executive vice-president, will accept the citation on behalf of InnerLink.

"In addition to analyzing an online survey of more than 1,000 registered users of Health eTools for Schools, AAPAR leaders and staff continue to participate in focus group meetings to help define and refine the offerings available through eTools to strengthen health and physical education instruction," Harris said.
