Robert Sinibaldi Named Adapted Physical Educator of the Year

Reston, VA - Dr. Robert W. Sinibaldi has been named the National Adapted Physical Educator of the Year by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). The award was announced at AAHPERD‟s national convention in San Diego.
Sinibaldi is an adapted physical education teacher at Walsingham Elementary School in Largo, Florida. He has secured more than a half-million dollars in grant money for school programs and $25,000 for adapted PE programs. In addition, Sinibaldi has patents pending on two of his adapted PE inventions.
"Robert Sinibaldi exemplifies „the best of the best,‟" says Mariah Burton Nelson, executive director of the American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR). "He‟s a teacher, writer, and inventor whose work has helped thousands of children receive the services they need. We commend him for his accomplishments, and are proud to have him represent AAPAR as this year‟s Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year."
Sinibaldi, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, has a long list of state and regional honors, including being named Florida PE Teacher of the Year several times, as well as being chosen as the 2011 Southern District Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year by the Southern District American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (SDAAHPERD).
Sinibaldi earned a Ph.D in Exceptional Child Education at the University of South Florida. He also holds a B.A. and Masters (Adapted Physical Education) from USF. He has published nearly 50 professional journal articles.
