Adapted Physical Activity Council
What We Do
The Adapted Physical Activity Council (APAC) supports both practical and theoretical endeavors in physical activity and recreation for people with disabilities in order to promote appropriate active lifestyles and a healthy quality of life. APAC advocates and encourages programs, policies, standards, and research that positively affect opportunities for people with disabilities to engage in physical activity and recreation. The Council also promotes excellence in professional practices and preparation and disseminates new knowledge about physical activity and recreation opportunities for the disabled.

Who We Serve
Adapted physical education (APE) teachers in the public schools; special education administrators; special education teachers, preschool teachers, recreation leaders, and university faculty who teach APE professionals and/or who teach physical activity and education to people with disabilities.
Calling all athletes with disabilities, we need your stories. Are you a student with a disability who has struggled to receive equitable treatment in your school? Have you found a way to successfully participate in athletic programs in your school? If not, do you feel like you have missed opportunities to participate or have been relegated to the sidelines? If this is you, the Women's Sports Foundation wants to know your story!
