Principled Leadership Symposium Offers Free Opportunity for Students
The Fourth Annual Principled Leadership Symposium with a theme of "Principled Leadership for a Globalized Environment" will take place on March 16 – 18, 2011. The Administration & Leadership Development Council of AAPAR is working with The Citadel to allow 50 students from various interested institutions to participate in the overall experience for free. In addition, the Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics at The Citadel will provide free room and board as well as waive the symposium fees for the participating students.
In addition to the students, the Symposium will also offer the opportunity to interested faculty of a poster presentation on either Thursday, March 17 or Friday, March 18, 2011 on a topic that meets the mission and vision of the ALD Council.
All interested parties should contact the Chair of the ALD Council, Harry Davakos at: harry.davakos@citadel.edu ASAP. Due to the small number of accommodations available for the students, the registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.
The Citadel requests that interested schools and faculty do not register more than 5 students per school, unless discussing it first with Harry Davakos. Once institutions have expressed an interest of participating, individual invitations will be sent to the presidents of the respective institution requesting the participation of the students.
Seeking Council Officers
ALD is seeking candidates to serve in various position on the Council. If you're a member of ALD, and we have your current e-mail address, you will receive more details about the various open positions. If you're not a member of ALD, or aren't sure, or otherwise want to make certain you receive the email, contact Council Chair Harry Davakos.
Leadership & Development Conference
ALD had preliminarily investigated a location and dates for a national conference on administration and leadership. This is an attempt to re-institute what was once an annual event held in years past. The conference will focus on providing opportunities for ALD Council members and other interested professionals to lecture, exchange ideas, and engage in discussions about administration and leadership development. If you have ideas, or would like to participate in any way, contact Council Chair Harry Davakos.
