Let's Move in School!
The American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation is proud to support Let's Move! -- First Lady Michelle Obama's campaign to solve the epidemic of childhood obesity within a generation.
Toward this end, in collaboration with the entire American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, AAPAR is participating in the Let's Move in School initiative.
Let's Move in School is urging parents, school administrators and policymakers to get involved in bringing quality physical education and physical activity to schools through a comprehensive school physical activity program so that youth will develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime.
Here are some AAPAR programs that directly support Let's Move in School:
- AAHPERD National Convention & Exposition
- AAPAR's Bicycle Safety Curriculum Adapted Physical Activity Assessment Scale (APEAS II) software & workshops
- Adapted PE Webinars
- Adapted PE Workshops
- Credentialing in Adapted Aquatics
- Every Body Can! Adapted PE Video Contest
- Play On! Playground Learning Activities for Youth Fitness, complete with a Guide for Parents
- Leisure Education In the Schools: Promoting Healthy Lifestyles for All Children and Youth
