What is Par Three?

 AAPAR's PAR Three Consulting Service connects three entities: AAPAR, AAPAR members, and organizations that need research, training, consulting, or curriculum development.

What types of workshops does Par Three offer?

AAPAR is flexible and responsive to your needs. If our members can provide a service you're looking for, we'll connect you. Generally we offer physical activity or recreation-related research, training, consulting, or curriculum development. AAPAR can evaluate the effectiveness of a program; develop a new program; review a facility, curriculum, or program; create resource materials (books, manuscripts, videos); provide presentations and in-services, or other projects. Consultations are designed to meet the unique needs and requests of individuals or organizations. So, tell us what you need and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What expertise do AAPAR members have?

Most AAPAR members are university faculty. Many have expertise in research, training, consulting, and curriculum development. AAPAR members are experts in lifelong fitness, recreation, adapted physical education, aquatics, adventure skills, measurement & evaluation, facilities & equipment, safety & risk management, family fitness, older adult fitness, and administration & leadership, among other fields.

How can I sign up as an expert?

If you're an AAPAR member, email us your CV and a paragraph about the kind of work you envision doing for Par Three. We'll take it from there.

How is a Par Three consultation organized?

AAPAR handles all the planning and logistics. We identify and secure the experts and put them in touch with you as soon as possible. We take care of getting the expert to your location at the right time, with all necessary materials. We prepare and send you the Par Three contract. All you need to do is clarify what you want so you can communicate your needs clearly to the consultant. Afterward, we'll get in touch to ask you for feedback.

In what ways are Par Three experts available?

In whatever format works best for you: in person at your site, by mail, email, phone, video conferencing, teleconferencing, or other formats we might not yet foresee!

What is the fee for Par Three services?

The fee varies depending on the service requested and logistics (travel and materials, for example). AAPAR will make every effort to work within your budget and to identify the best possible person or team for your needs.
