Workshop Prerequisites

Adapted Aquatics Instructor (AAI):

Age 18 +
Current CPR certification (including adult, child, infant)
Current first aid certification
Current AED certification
Current instructor certificate in instructional swim from a national agency (WSI, YMCA instructor, Starfish Swimming, Swim America)

Adapted Aquatics Assistant (AAA):

Age: 14 years old+
Pass an intermediate Level-3 swimming test
Physical strength sufficient to assist people with disabilities  

Adapted Aquatics Adjunct (AAAdj):     

Age 18+
Current CPR certification (including adult, child, infant)
Current first aid certification
Degree in special education, adapted physical education, therapeutic recreation, or physical or occupational therapy
Pass an intermediate Level-3 swimming test
Physical strength sufficient to assist people with disabilities
