AAPAR's Adapted Physical Education Workshops

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (2004) requires that, to the maximum extent appropriate, children with disabilities must be educated alongside their typically developing peers. But how can this be best achieved?

Adapted Physical Education Workshops

Almost every physical education class includes students with disabilities. AAPAR's Adapted Physical Activity Council (APAC) provides hands-on workshops for professionals serving people with disabilities. Our adapted physical activity workshops are customized to meet the needs of particular school districts—inclusion techniques, dealing with visual impairments, mobility limitations, autism spectrum disorders, behavior management, and more. Our workshops serve physical education teachers with varying levels of experience.

Contact us to host an AAPAR Adapted Physical Education Workshop in your school district. Or, request a workshop at your state AHPERD or District AAHPERD conference.

Adapted Physical Education Assessment Workshops

AAPAR offers workshops in using the Adapted Physical Education Assessment Scale (APEAS II) software. We provide two half-day assessment education workshops for schools, school districts, and universities. Learn more.

Adapted Aquatics Credentialing Workshops

Currently, AAPAR is the only organization to offer a credentialing workshop in adapted aquatics. Our expertly designed workshops prepare instructors to teach swimming and aquatic safety to people with disabilities. Learn more.
