On Thursday, February 28 in Chicago, First Lady Michelle Obama will make a major announcement to bring physical activity back to schools. Joining the First Lady at the McCormick Place will be U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and NIKE, Inc. President & CEO Mark Parker. Athletes attending will be gymnasts Dominique Dawes of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and Gabby Douglas, tennis player Serena Williams, sprinter Allyson Felix, personal trainer Bob Harper, football quarterback Colin Kaepernick, triathlete Sarah Reinertsen, skateboarder Paul "P-Rod" Rodriguez, decathlete Ashton Eaton, and legend Bo Jackson. There will also be a surprise musical guest and thousands of Chicago area teachers and students at the event hosted by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
