Only a week after the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and the American Heart Association (AHA) released the 2010 Shape of the Nation Report, a comprehensive study from Bridging the Gap and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation draws similar conclusions: that the nation’s elementary schools provide little time for physical activity and quality physical education.
The report, School Policies and Practices to Improve Health and Prevent Obesity: National Elementary School Survey Results, examined practices that affect nutrition, physical activity and obesity prevention for tens of millions of students.
