About the Central District Association

The Central District Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance is one of six districts of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance dedicated to furthering the purposes of the Alliance within the geographical area of Central District.

Central District is an educational organization structured for the purpose of supporting, encouraging, and providing assistance to member groups and their personnel throughout the Central District as they seek to initiate, develop, and conduct programs in health, leisure, and movement-related activities for the enrichment of human life.

Our Vision

The Central District strategic vision provides the basis for the development of a strategic plan that is innovative and accounts for future trends. Central District envisions a society in which all individuals enjoy an appreciation of and participation in an active and creative health promoting lifestyle.

Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Central District Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance is to support, provide, and promote programs that encourage healthy, active lifestyles.

Governance

The Central District is governed by a representative assembly and an executive board. The representative assembly consists of the executive board, with the exception of the Retiree Network representative, all district past presidents, the representatives of the state associations, and the CD Council of Future Professional Representative.

The Executive Board consists of the president, president-elect, immediate past president, the four division vice-presidents, the four division vice presidents-elect, the treasurer, the secretary, the district representative to the Alliance Board of Governors, the Retiree Network representative, the executive director and the parliamentarian. The parliamentarian and executive director have no vote.

All executive board meetings are open and may be attended by any state/AAHPERD member at their own expense.
