EDA Outstanding Professional Award
The EDA Outstanding Professional Award (OPA) is given annually to up to two people in each discipline who best exemplify exceptional and outstanding contributions to their respective disciplines.
Criteria
- Nominee must have been a professional member of AAHPERD for five years.
- Nominee must have had five years of active involvement in the discipline for which the award will be granted.
- Nominee must have active involvement at the district level.
- Specific qualifications (must demonstrate contributions in one or more of the following categories):
- Leadership and committee service at the district and local, state, national, and/or international levels.
- Involvement in volunteer activities at the district and local, state, national, and/or international levels.
- Presentations/workshops at the district and local, state, national, and/or international levels.
- Contributions in professional journals, newsletters, monographs, books, choreography, computer software, and/or editorships.
- Outstanding innovative contribution or service to the profession or discipline.
- Evidence of professional employment.
Past EDA Merit Award recipients who have not received the EDA Honor Award are eligible for the Outstanding Professional Award.
