Techniques introduced include use of breath, imagery, touch, massage (myofascial release/connective tissue), proprioceptive neuromuscular intervention, and stretching and strengthening exercises. Specific muscles affected will include the pectoralis major and minor, subscapularis, rhomboids, levator scapula, subclavius, splenius capitis, occipitals, sternocleidomastoid, and the scalenes. Participants will work with a partner at appropriate times.
  • Teambuilding in the Kinesiology College Classroom - General Division ½ day (Saturday) Teambuilding activities are a series of mental and physical challenges that require a group of individuals to work collaboratively as a team to accomplish goals. Utilizing teambuilding activities with students in the kinesiology college classroom setting establishes an environment for open, cooperative, experiential, and shared learning. These activities and challenges provide the students with an opportunity for learning through play, improve the group dynamics in the classroom, and verbalize metaphors for specific kinesiology topics. Through this process, students get a new point of view of themselves, the academic material, and the class group dynamics. This new perspective helps the individuals in a group realize and appreciate each other's similarities and differences. Providing students with hands-on experience through a variety of challenges that require self-discipline, communication skills, self awareness, and personal commitment are beneficial goals in any college classroom.
  • USBVBA- Volleyball – Sport and Leisure Division ½ day (Saturday)
