About Southern District

Mission/Vision

The mission of Southern District AAHPERD is to support and promote the aims of AAHPERD and assist in strengthening the state associations of the thirteen states which comprise this District: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Southern District AAHPERD serves as an advocate for quality programs that encourage healthy, physically active lifestyles. 

The ongoing pursuit of the Southern District mission is facilitated by providing professional development opportunities including but not limited to workshops, conventions and leadership conferences.
