Southwest District Programs

The Southwest District members receive an array of programs and events sponsored by SWD and the national associations of AAHPERD.

• The Southwest District Convention is held annually, and provides networking with professionals and students in the Southwest District states.
• Southwest District honors its outstanding professionals and students through the Southwest District Awards program.
• Southwest District offers Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart Grants to promote development of these programs in K-12 schools.
• The Student Leadership Seed Grant Program fosters leadership opportunities for student members, and the Professional Development Grant Program assists collaboration between Southwest District and its state associations.
• Advocacy resources for SWD professional and student members.
• Members receive regional news through Highlights, a member newsletter published four times annually.
