Girls ages 6-18 from 6 Girls inc. Memphis site will come together to participate in various nontraditional sports to celebrate NGWSD. The girls will participate in activities such as Hula hoop, bowling, cheer leading, jump rope, flag football, dance, and fitness techniques. This year the theme is Play, Believe, and Achieve. Our girls will have the opportunity to experience sports that are not a part of their everyday lives and gain knowledge of ways to stay fit while playing. It is our hope that by providing our girls with the necessary tools they will believe that any goal is possible to accomplish. We distribute bags, provided by Nike, at the end of the end which symbolizes a tool used to carry whatever tools they may need on their journeys to healthier lifestyles. By the end of the day, we know our girls will have achieved a higher standard for themselves to uphold for being physically active. |
