This year marks the 25th anniversary of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, a time to acknowledge the past and recognize current sports achievements, the positive influence of sports participation, and the continuing struggle for equality and access for women in sports. On February 2, 2011, PSAL will be honoring all 2009-10 Girls’ Championship Teams at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Event guests include players from the New York Liberty, representatives from Womens’ Sports Foundation and keynote speaker Laura Gentile, Vice President of ESPN W, a new womens’ sports division at ESPN. We are also excited to announce our first annual NGWSD Essay Contest. Essay winners will receive the following: Award recognition at the NGWSD Award Ceremony |
