St. Cloud State University Athletics and the St. Cloud Area Girl Scouts are sponsoring a National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the National Hockey and Event Center. The event is free to all area Girl Scouts and youth in grades 2 to 8. It will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 in conjunction with the SCSU women’s hockey game against the University of Wisconsin. Registration and activities begin at 1:30, followed by the hockey game at 2:07, with the activities concluding at 3:30. A fitness circuit supporting healthy lifestyles and physical activity at stations will be the main feature of the event sponsored by St. Cloud State Athletics (basketball, golf, soccer, volleyball), Campus Rec (Zumba and balance), CentraCare Blend (healthy lifestyle), the National Guard (challenge course) and the SCSU Women’s Center (Title IX education). In addition to the activities there will be opportunities to win prizes, watch the St. Cloud State women’s hockey team take on the University of Wisconsin and a free ice cream sundae bar. |
