Virginia Head Start Association Conference
March 23-25, 2010- Norfolk, VA

HSBS Physical Activity Consultant Holly Blum presented Take It Outside! Purposeful Play and Meaningful Movement. Participants discovered the benefits of outdoor activities across developmental domains as well as the key features of a high quality outdoor play space that promote movement opportunities for young children.

2010 AAHPERD National Convention & Exposition
March 16-20, 2010- Indianapolis, IN

HSBS presented a variety of sessions led by early childhood movement experts including the Head Start Body Start Master Trainers. Participants learned how to increase moderate-to-vigorous physical activity throughout the day and make connections to the Head Start Outcomes framework.

39th National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Conference
February 23-26, 2010- Washington, DC

HSBS presented Move, Play and Learn: Family Friendly Activities where attendees learned to identify materials and strategies to use in modeling and encouraging children to become physically active.

National Head Start Association (NHSA) Parent Training Conference
December 4-8, 2009- San Jose, CA

HSBS debuted three new training modules: Take It Outside!, Activities for All, and Move, Play and Learn at Home. The conference helped parents and those who work with or on behalf of parents and their children to advance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
