Inclusive Hoops For Heart

One of the great things about Hoops For Heart is that all students can participate. You can easily modify basketball activities for physically challenged students to provide a safe yet inclusive event. With a few modifications, you can ensure that everyone who wants to participate can join in.

As a first step, make sure students have the proper authorization for participating in the event. Assess each child's functional abilities and modify the basketball skills required to suit those abilities. You may want to provide one-on-one assistance for children with disabilities. For example, you might provide interpreters for hearing-impaired students.

You can modify activities in a variety of ways. The suggestions that follow are just some of the proven modifications that will enable physically challenged students to participate in Hoops For Heart.
