Who can apply?

Any physical education teacher who has held a Jump Rope For Heart or Hoops For Heart event within the last school year is eligible to apply.

  

Can I include photos and other materials in my application?

Absolutely! You are welcome to include up to three pages of pictures, testimonials, letters of recommendation, and any other materials that help to convey your passion for the programs.

 

What tips would you give to a first-time applicant?

Ask a colleague to proofread your work. Even strong, well-crafted applications can lose points or be disqualified for mistakes. Double check that the required application components are included.

 

What does CSH mean?

CSH stands for "Coordinated School Health." You can learn more about the eight components of Coordinated School Health by visiting the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website.

 

What do I get if I win?

The AAHPERD Jump Rope For Heart & Hoops For Heart grant provides a one year AAHPERD membership, a trip to the AAHPERD National Convention & Exposition, and a $1,200 US Games gift certificate to purchase equipment to enhance your physical education program.   

 

How many grants are given out each year?

A total of ten grants are awarded to Jump Rope For Heart & Hoops For Heart coordinators each year.
