Increase Education

The goal is to create an informed populace that understands the rights and privileges of girls and women in sport. Understanding rights as provided for through laws, codes of conduct, institutional policies, and cultural mores empower individuals to insure that equity is protected.

Encourage Advocacy

The goal is to move informed and educated individuals toward advocacy to guarantee the rights of girls and women participating in sport at all levels. In addition, Backyards and Beyond will explore issues within the society that are unjust and create barriers to girls and women in sport.

Ensure Implementation

The goal is to create a critical mass of individuals who ensure that the implementation of mandated laws and supportive institutional policies are enforced.

Foster Vigilance

The goal is to create a vigilant constituency that protects the rights of all girls and women in sport.

Attain Fairness

The goal is to increase the opportunity for all girls and women to participate in equitable sport programs through enhancing understanding, advocacy, increasing program implementation, and increasing the vigilance of the general population.
