Mary Jennings Sport Camp Scholarship Fund

The National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) sponsors the Mary Jennings Sport Camp Scholarship Fund, a fund to help support young female athletes who would like to attend a sport camp to develop their skills.

The fund will provide financial support for female athletes ages 10-14 to attend the sport camp of their choice. Athletes in any sport are eligible to apply.

The Fund is named for New Jersey athlete Mary Jennings who passed away in June of 2006 following a short battle with liver cancer. Although Jennings, 21, was a multi-talented student-athlete who played basketball and ran track, her passion was soccer.

Jennings played four years of varsity soccer for Piscataway (NJ) High School. In 2002 as a high school senior Jennings helped lead the PHS Girls Soccer team to their first County Championship. She received a scholarship to attend Seton Hall University where she was a member of the women's soccer team and six-time Dean's List student.

NAGWS is collecting individual and group donations to support the Fund on an ongoing basis. Groups or organizations can host events in their local community and dedicate some or all of their profits to the Fund.

Application Deadlines: February 1st of each year (for camps held between mid February and October 1), October 1st of each year (for camps held between mid October and February 1)
