"As an African American woman involved in aquatic sports, I have always been curious about the lack of visibility of women of color in leadership roles in sport, physical education and athletics. Since I joined NAGWS in 1989, I have learned how to network with the women and men who share my passion for promoting equitable and quality sport and physical activity programs for ALL girls and women. I have met lifelong friends and colleagues. As a member of NAGWS I always know where I can turn for comprehensive and timely information about the experiences of girls and women in sport."
