Q: If I am a member of AAHPERD am I also a member of NASPE?

A: AAHPERD is an alliance of five national associations.  Your professional membership dues include unrestricted access to two of the national associations within the alliance (one if you are a student).  In order to have unrestricted access to NASPE member-only content you must select NASPE as one of your national associations.  By selecting NASPE, you automatically designate a portion of your membership dues to go to supporting NASPE programs, products and services.  


Q: What do my dues pay for?

A: Your AAHPERD membership dues include:

  • Membership in two of AAHPERD's five national associations
  • Subscription to one of AAHPERD's four peer reviewed journals. Choices include Strategies, JOPERD, AHJE and Update
  • Full membership in your District Association
  • Networking – Listservs, Internet Forums, online membership and leadership directories   
  • Discounts up to 30% on publications, products and services
  • Discounts of up to 25% on conferences and events including registration to the AAHPERD National Convention
  • Unrestricted access to member-only content from your selected national associations   
  • Subscription to the bi-monthly AAHPERD Trade Magazine (UpdatePLUS) and electronic newsletter (Et Cetera)
  • Newsletters from each of the national associations that they select
  • Optional Research Consortium membership (free to members)

Q: How do I go about obtaining permission to reprint or adapt any of NASPE's material?  

A: Written permission from NASPE is required whenever our copyrighted material is reprinted or adapted. You can find our official permission form on our publications webpage. Once you have completed this form, please allow 2-3 weeks for us to process your reprint request. Once you receive the official document granting reprint permission, sign and send required payment (if applicable) to NASPE Publications, 1900 Association Drive, Reston, VA 20191. Permission to reprint is not official until we received this signed form.
