Submission Entry: Things will be very different in the next 10 years, just as they were from 2000-2010.  There will be new technology, new games, and new theories as to how to teach physical education to our students.
I think the biggest change in the physical education field that will happen in the next 10 years, is to make physical education a core course.  Obesity is a HUGE problem in our country, and one way to combat obesity is physical activity.  I think that by having students take physical education throughout their years at school, for at least 3 times a week, there could be a huge impact made on the next generation.
It is very difficult to predict what cutting edge technology will be at our fingertips, but I think it will be important to utilize it!!  When I was in school, there was nothing more fun that getting an opportunity to try something new or interesting.  I think that will go a long ways as far as keeping the students interested in school.
Lastly, I do feel that it is important to teach team/traditional games in physical education, but I do think we should mix it up.  Rather than ALWAYS doing a quarter or semester that consists of: soccer, football, volleyball, and basketball; we need to mix it up.  Give students sports or lessons that they can use BEYOND class.  Teach them life sports such as bowling, or hiking.
Overall, things will be very different in 10 years…but I think it will be for the better!
