| Submission Entry: | To stay healthy for a lifetime we need to eat healthy, do diverse exercises, and exercises our mind. First, eat healthy. You need to eat healthy for your body to function. If you gain weight you won’t be able to function your body as well as you should be. My dad has high blood pressure and is a little over weight. He has to visit the doctor. Second, do diverse exercises. To stay healthy, I jog, play tag, and go to the gym. FITT is very important when doing diverse exercises. FITT stands for frequency, intensity, time, and type. Cardio, strength, and flexibility are three types of useful exercises. One type of cardio exercise is running. Some types of strength exercises are push ups, curl ups, and lunges. Flexibility exercises are yoga and gymnastics. Third, exercise your mind. Exercising your mind is very important. If you don’t exercise your mind your brain won’t think as well as it should be. Some mind exercises are cup stacking, yoga, chess, and checkers. Fourth, always remember the food pyramid. The food pyramid contains the good foods to eat and of course the bad ones. The good food is dairy, meat, grains, vegetables, and fruit. The bad food is oils and sugar. Each type of food has a color. Like oils and sugar are yellow. Dairy is blue, meat is purple, grains are orange, vegetables are green, and fruit is red. Oils and sugar are bad for you, but you can still eat them now and then. Now just because I said the good food is dairy, meat, grains, vegetables, and fruit, doesn’t mean you should eat billions and billions of it everyday. If you do you will gain weight. It might be hard to remember what the food pyramid is. Just call it the triangular rainbow, so if you see a poster of the food pyramid you can say “Hey look! It’s the triangular rainbow.” Stay healthy, stay away from obesity. |
