The mission of the physical education program at Eugene Field Elementary School is to "promote lifetime fitness by helping children develop positive attitudes, build character, and discover personal strengths which allow them to enjoy a lifetime of challenging activities". Three teachers serve the school's 641 students with a curriculum that offers a variety of activities in fitness training activities, dance, individual and team sports and adventure/outdoor activities. The program utilizes multiple sources of information to deliver essential content to students and also provides feedback to both students and parents regarding the student success in skill and movement development.

Eugene Field Elementary is also commended for dedicating four days each week for 30 minutes of physical education and combining physical activity within the regular classroom for additional physical activity time. Congratulations to the staff, administration and parents in the Park Ridge-Niles Community for placing such a solid value on the healthy development of your students.
