Fairglen Elementary School

Fairglen Elementary School, a Title 1 school located in Cocoa, Florida, employs one physical education teacher for 724 students. A recent recipient of the county’s excellence in physical education award, Fairglen is also part of a three-year Carol M. White Physical Education Program project. The physical education instructor is Nationally Board Certified in Early and Middle Childhood Physical Education and is very involved in national and state professional development opportunities as well as active in FAHPERD and AAHPERD organizations. Fairglen Elementary has exemplary indoor and outdoor facilities and an extensive variety of individual and team equipment. The physical education curriculum offers a wide variety of opportunities for movement and health and skill related fitness through activities such as dance, Project Adventure, fitness training, and sports. Numerous special events promote family and community involvement with the program. A county leadership team meets regularly to allow professional networking across the district on a regular basis.
