Selma Middle School is located in rural central Indiana and serves 282 students, grades 6 to 8. Physical education instruction is provided every other day all year for 6 th graders and every other day for one semester for 7 th and 8 th graders. The physical education program is driven by the same academic and planning standards expected of all other disciplines of the school. The physical education curriculum focus is on team, individual and life time sports. Fitness activities are included within the sport units. The written physical education curriculum is relatively new and is regularly under review and revision. A special Personal Fitness program for which 7 th and 8 th grade students apply and are selected for enrollment meets daily all year.
