Currently serves as a commissioner for the Commission on Sport Management Accreditations (COSMA).

Dr. Gillentine has had over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts published.

Co-edited textbook Foundations of Sport Management.

Has given over 75 national presentations and 14 international presentations.

Research Fellow of the Research Consortium of the AAHPERD.

Served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Research in Coaching and Athletics.

Has served on editorial review boards for the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) (2001-2004),

Served on the Editorial Executive Review Board for the International Journal of Sport Management,

has served as a reviewer for Strategies, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Sport Management Education and as section head and abstract reviewer for the North American Society of Sport Management (NASSM).

Served as Chair of the NASPE/NASSM Accreditation Standards Task Force (2005),

Chair of the NASPE Sport Management Council Executive Committee (2004),

Chair of Cannons Committee for Sport Marketing Association, and

the chair for NASPE/NASSM Sport Management Program Review Council Executive Committee.

Served as the Executive Director for the Mississippi Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (2001-2002).

Served as Board member of the Miami-Dade Sports Commission 2007-2009.

Served on the Mississippi Governor's Commission of Physical Fitness and Sport.

Has received over $360,000 in funded research.

Received the Who's Who in Education (2005).

Received the Pride in Teaching Award - Mississippi Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (1999).
