Head Start Body Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play (HSBS) a project of The National Association for Physical Education and Sport (NASPE) and the American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR) will present three engaging sessions focused on early childhood movement.
Take It Outside! - Wednesday, March 17, 2010: 10:30 AM-11:45 AM
ntroduces participants to the benefits of outdoor play across developmental domains and the adult as facilitator of play as well as providing ideas for structured and unstructured play.
Activities for All - March 17, 2010: 2:00 PM-3:15 PM
Provides a wide variety of activity ideas and strategies for including children with a range of abilities and cultural backgrounds.
Evaluating Physical Activity in Early Childhood Settings - March 18, 2010: 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Focuses on the use of the Child Activity Rating Scale and the development of research agendas for evaluating physical activity in early childhood settings.
HSBS will kick off its week long convention activities with a full day training for HSBS Physical Activity Consultants on March 16th.
HSBS Physical Activity Consultants will be honored at NASPE's Celebration of Professional Excellence.
Join HSBS at one of these events and meet the HSBS Master Training Team including national early childhood movement experts Clersdia Garcia, Meg Greiner, Kristi Mally, Rae Pica, and Steve Stork. HSBS staff looks forward to welcoming convention participants at the HSBS exhibit booth to share information about HSBS programs and its free resources.
