Conference participants are encouraged to make hotel reservations at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort early in 2009 to ensure that they can reserve a room at the conference site.
The Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort is located on the oceanfront of the 145-acre Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Other Kingston Plantation high rise condos and hotels line the white sand of the Atlantic. The Hilton is surrounded by condos and townhouses that can be rented for small groups and families. Shady paths wind around ponds and in and out of the beautifully landscaped neighborhoods. Near the entrance of the resort, a convenience store is available and offers light fare and fast food. There is a top-of-the-line fitness center available at no charge to all guests. A golf course is located right across the street, but it is one of over a hundred in the area, so golfers find this to be a wonderland. Shopping, shows, and fun in the sun abound in sunny Myrtle Beach.

This number will reach the Hilton Myrtle Beach reservation desk and they should take your reservation without bouncing you to a national reservationist. Before you are sent to a national number, tell the Myrtle Beach reservationist that you were given this number to call, use the conference title: The 2009 Physical Education Teacher Education Conference and the conference code, NAE. Unfortunately, if the Myrtle Beach lines are busy, your will automatically get transferred to the national reservationist. If this happens, be sure to use the NAE code.
Rooms have been blocked for the nights of Wednesday, October 7, Thursday, October 8, Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10. The block is limited and once the block is full, rooms may be reserved at the conference rate ONLY as available, so book now. The hotel will honor the conference rate on the nights of October 5 - 6 and on October 11 - 12, based upon availability, for those of you who want to extend your visit.
Parking at the Hilton will be FREE for PETE Conference attendees.
