General Sessions with Featured Keynote Speakers

Each General Session will feature a co-presentation by a nationally and internationally recognized future leader and legend in the physical education teacher education field, including: 

  • Collegiality and Collaboration in PETE: 1:00-2:00pm Thursday - featuring Missy Parker and Aaron Beighle 
  • Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs: 7:00-8:00pm Thursday - featuring Judith Rink and Darla Castelli
  • Advocacy and Policy Change: 1:15-2:30pm Friday - featuring Monica Lounsbery and Lisa Hicks
  • Preparing Teachers and Meeting the Needs of K-12 Students and Schools: Friday Evening Dinner/Program - featuring Thom McKenzie and Nate McCaughtry
Pre-Conference Workshops: October 3

There will be no onsite registration for pre-conference workshops.

  • Director of Physical Activity Training (full day)

The purpose of this training is to add value to the role of the physical education teacher, by identifying him/her as the expert in the educational setting, who will facilitate implementation of the Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP) model. Participation will result in a certificate of completion.

  

  • PE2020 Workshop (half-day)

PE2020 began in 2010 as a visionary initiative focused on creating a blue print for physical education's future. This workshop will include informational presentations and opportunities to share and discuss areas in which progress is being made.

 

  • NASPE 2008 Initial PETE Standards and NCATE Electronic Portfolio Preparation Workshop (half day)

Get the most up-to-date, comprehensive information on 'unpacking the 2008 standards', documenting assessments and data, and preparing the electronic report.
