Presenter of Embracing Differences in Diverse Settings

Schmidlein_robertDr. Robert Schmidlein is an assistant professor of Physical Education & Sport Pedagogy at Manhattanville College. Before teaching at the university level he was a public school physical education teacher in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Dr. Schmidlein attended The University of Georgia, where he received a Doctorate of Education in Physical Education with a minor in Multicultural Education. Additionally, he received a M.S. at Hofstra University in Physical Education and a B.S. in Exercise Science from Lander University.

Dr. Schmidlein has present research in the areas of urban physical education, multicultural education, and mental health in college students. He has also published articles in the European Physical Education Review, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, ICHPER-SD: Journal of Research, and Strategies.

Currently, he is a member of the NASPE Task Force in Diversity & Inclusiveness and a peer reviewer for Strategies. He resides in Brooklyn and enjoys running, yoga, and weight training.
