21st Century Skills Status Report

In October of 2009, representatives of eight arts organizations assembled from across the United States to draft a curriculum map representing all four arts disciplines within the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21).

These organizations included:

  • National Dance Association (NDA)
  • The National Association for Music Education (MENC)
  • National Dance Education Organization (NDEO)
  • American Alliance for Theatre & Education (AATE)
  • National Art Education Association (NAEA)
  • Educational Theatre Association (EdTA)
  • National Art Education Association (NAEA)
  • Scott C. Shuler, The National Association for Music Education (MENC)

The Partnership for 21st Century Skills is the leading advocacy organization focused on infusing 21st century skills into education. The organization brings together the business community, education leaders, and policymakers to define a powerful vision for education and to ensure that students emerge from our schools with the skills needed to become effective citizens, workers, and leaders. The event was hosted by MENC in Reston, VA.

The writers are now working on the maps based on comments from the field, and a final draft will be posted in early 2010 (date TBA). Read more
