PrintGerri Houlihan: Modern Dance Technique
Gerri Houlihan had recently become Co-dean of the ADF School and is always a favorite professor there. Houlihan has been teaching in the same building at ADF, the Ark, for over 25 years, The Ark and Gerri are both ADF landmarks. They encompass the history of the festival and the further progression of new generations being introduced to the old, the new, and the ever-changing ways of modern dance.
Houlihan equals the basics of modern dance, putting attention on focus, full body movement, and standards such as reach, scoop, and spiral. Her constant calls to her students are both encouraging and a delight to hear. To see someone so invested in her students' progress is a joy to behold and experience.
