Dance Now! Special Student Dance Day

At the AAHPERD National Convention

Hip-Hop, Latin, Contemporary Modern, Broadway, and Krumping/Clowning, all with a positive message-this exciting day will highlight the benefits of dance for our students. And all presented on Saturday, April 2, at the AAHPERD National Convention.

To celebrate our young dancers, the National Dance Association is scheduling this Special Student Dance Day. High School and College Students are free at these events.

Important Note: High School students must be accompanied by an adult and are required to contact the National Dance Association for registration information.

Here is the exciting line-up to date (times TBA):*

  • Master Hip-Hop/Krumping Class with "Tommy the Clown"--No Drugs Allowed!
    Dance with the star of the movie "RIZE"! After struggling in LA, Tommy Johnson's life changed completely when he played a clown at a local party. As Tommy the Clown, he established the inspirational dance movement "Clowning" and "Krumping". Tommy gets youth into dancing instead of into drugs or gangs with his Hip-Hop Clowns dance crew.   • Master Contemporary Dance Class with Tamica Washington-Miller
    Join Tamica Washington-Miller, assistant choreographer for the blockbuster movie, "Avatar", in an incredible afternoon of dance! Tamica brilliantly applies a free range of motion with vocabulary that opens the body to rhythms, beats and diverse dynamics. She challenges her students to strive to learn something new and creative in each class. Cross over into the spiritual world of dance with Tamica Washington-Miller. More info on Tamica
