
Lauralee Zimmerly is a dance educator who uses teaching and research as a natural extension of her love of choreographing and performing. She was a Visiting Lecturer and assistant costumer in the Drama and Dance Department at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, and an artist-in-residence for the San Joaquin County school district. Zimmerly has been a member of New Dance Company in Stockton from its inception, was a founding member of Contemporary Dance Alliance in Albuquerque, NM and a performer for Sor Maria Productions in Santa Fe. In Pocatello, she has participated as a performer/choreographer for Kinetikos Dance Alliance, STB Dance, Co-Exhibit, Brindusa-Moore Ballet, as well as working as an independent choreographer and performer.

She received a M.A. degree in dance choreography and performance from UCLA and is currently completing her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology at Idaho State University in the College of Education. Her research interests center on the use of instructional technologies and creative movement activities to enhance critical thinking and learning. She has presented her research and workshops at conferences both nationally and internationally.
She is an Associate Lecturer in the department of Theatre and Dance where she was an Artistic Co- Director of I~Move, The ISU Modern Dance Company from 2004- 2009, has choreographed for productions for Theatre and Music, and now choreographs for DANCE ISU. Zimmerly also has the pleasure of working with DANSON, the ISU student dance company. She teaches Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Dance Basics, Pilates, Methods of Dance for Children, Dance Curriculum Design, Survey of Dance, Dance in the Modern Era, Dance Composition, Aesthetic Issues in Dance, First Year Seminar, and in the University Honors program. She was awarded the 2010 Northwest District University Dance Educator of the Year by AAHPERD.
