Internships with NDA

The National Dance Association (NDA) offers internships to dance and dance education students throughout the year. NDA staff and board members work closely with interns to design a unique program that meets the needs and interests of the student and the requirements of the college or university. NDA coordinates the entire process from the selection and placement of qualified interns to the final evaluation (if applicable).

All internships are unpaid. Interns are encouraged to make arrangements with their advisor regarding university credit. The intern, NDA, and the sponsoring college/ university negotiate the length and work schedule of the internship, which is generally 10-40 hours per week for a period of at least six weeks. Schedules accommodate academic calendars and other relevant employment opportunities.

"My internship at the National Dance Association was an extremely valuable and enriching experience, both educationally and professionally. I delved into knowledge that piqued my interests, created practical projects that synthesized what I learned, and gained more exciting career development opportunities than I could have ever imagined. My internship was personalized to my background and interests in dance science, health, and fitness; focusing on wellness guidelines for dancers and their teachers."
